Big Family Festival

Overview

2 days of family fun in the Midlands took place on Saturday 30th – Sunday 31st July 2016. BBC’s The Voice Finalist Lyrickal , CBeebies Rastamouse and Cook and Line performed at the first Big Family Festival in the UK. A married couple and their two children have finally decided to tackle the problem of not having much to do in the summer holidays, fed up of trawling the internet for ideas for six weeks only to be left disappointed. They decided to create an event themselves, with the help of their two daughters of course. Angela and George from Sutton Coldfield have been running big dance events for the last 15 years and realised there was a genuine gap in the market for an event that was truly suitable for all the family. “We wanted to create something that encompasses all aspects of children’s entertainment in a festival setting. A festival that has its main focus as children and entertaining them. Something that people didn’t have to endure a 3-5hr motorway journey southbound to find, something that hopefully may tempt those further south to travel up a motorway themselves”

Wheelchair Access

Wheelchair access
We are committed to making Big Family Festival as accessible as possible and great efforts are being been made to achieve this where reasonable.

There are of course still fields and areas where mobility can be difficult. Electric wheelchairs can tackle most areas without too much hindrance but the ground can be quite uneven in places and is predominantly on grass. If it rains it may get muddy and access around the site (other than on the paths) may be very difficult. The terrain is predominantly short grass with firm soil so movement around the main arena and other stages is possible for fit wheelchair users in good weather. Your personal assistant will need to assist you if it becomes difficult, which is why they receive a free pass to the festival.

Only Blue Badge holders, or those in the disability access campsite will be able to use the disability access car park.

Access To Toilets

Access To Toilets
Accessible lavatories will be positioned at various places around the festival and we aim to protect them from public use. Please check out where they are on site so you know where to go when you need to go. To use these, you will need a Personal Assistant Pass as this proves you have a recognised disability.
