Overview

"The Gig Buddies project was originally started by the charity Stay Up Late. Mencap is proud to deliver Gig Buddies in Bradford with funding from City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council. The project is run by Mencap in partnership with the charity, Stay Up Late. It empowers people with a learning disability to get out, make friends and do the things they love, by matching them with a volunteer who shares similar interests. In this way it helps to break down the barriers to having a social life that people with a learning disability face by bringing people both with and without a learning disability together."
